Best Burger joints in El Paso

El Paso is Spanish for 'The Pass' and is used to refer to the city that sits along Rio Grande in the US, across the border from Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico. It is the county seat for the El Paso County in Texas and together with Juárez forms the El Paso–Juárez–Las Cruces metropolitan area which is home to over 2.7 million people and the largest bilingual, bi-national work force in the Western Hemisphere.

Thus said, the city, like all the other American city has an active gastronomy sector, fuelled to a big percentage by the burger joints that dot its landscape. If you are ever in the city and are confused on where to get the best burgers, perhaps you should follow my list of the top burger joints in the city.

1. Rosco's Burger

I did not say this, I stole it from somewhere on the internet because it is so true. Here you go, "Burger King is a peasant and McDonald's a clown when you compare their burgers". For a decade, Roscoes has outranked its competitors in serving fries and onion rings, hamburgers, caldillo, cheeseburgers, hot dogs, meat burritos, grilled cheese sandwiches, chili bowl, and meat burritos. If I were you, I would probably start with this restaurant. It is located 3829 Tompkins Road.

2. Fuddruckers

How would you love to make your own burger and top it off with an array of exotic veggies? At Fuddruckers, you build your own burger by choosing the size as well as the plethora of toppings available. The joint is located at 5030 N Desert Blvd.

3. Papa Burgers

This restaurant makes burgers specifically for the Mexicans in the city. We all know that Mexican food is mostly 'a-lick-the-grease-off-your-hands' kind. The burgers served here are not different. A one day grease intake will not give you a heart attack - so eat the tasty burger and enjoy the mellow and smooth beef - it is a rarity that you should enjoy.

4. Frisco Burger inn

Although the restaurant serves chicken and fish sandwiches; the real crowd-puller is the Big burger that comes complete with 8 varieties of Vegies, dried cheddar and onion rings. Dig in and enjoy the big one...it is a yummy feel that you do not get to experience often.

5. Hot and Juicy

This is the most aptly named restaurant in the US - Its burgers are hot and juicy. It is a place to have a quick lunch without burning a hole into your pockets. In fact, why don't you try out the Kong Burger that features six parties of beef? This is the kind of food that makes your cardiologist develop ulcers...

El Paso is diverse in culture, gastronomy, attractions and peoples. If you want to sample Mexican culture while still on the US soil, only San Diego can compete for the top spot with El Paso. Enjoy your trip.
