5 beaches in Perth that rock

The Swan Coastal Plain, a narrow strip between the Indian Ocean and the Darling Scarp is the most heavily populated region in Perth - the largest city in the Australian State of Western Australia. Having a coastal strip with the Indian Ocean is the biggest advantage the city of Perth has over other Australian cities. Indian Ocean is full of coral reef limestone and thus most of its beaches have white sands. The beaches below have made Perth a major tourist destination.

1. Cottesloe Beach

This is by far the most popular beach in Perth. Its southern end is ideal for snorkeling. Along its Marine Parade are some of the best cafes in the world. They offer the 'beach-mongers' refreshments as they soak in the rich Western Australia sun. This beach offers the best views of Indian Ocean in Australia.

2. Eighty Mile Beach

As the name suggests, this is a stretch of 80 miles beach that starts from Port Hedland to Broome. The beach boasts pristine white sands and shells. Amazingly, the beach is cleaned everyday by tides. If you are looking for something romantic to do, take a leisurely walk on this beach.

3. Perth City Beach

This beach has been named the best beach in Perth for several years. It is ideal for fishing and swimming. The beak boasts children playgrounds, barbecue tables, changing rooms, picnic tables and toilets. Being in one of the most exclusive residence areas help the beach keep clean. If you want somewhere to take your family, look no further.

4. Sorrento Beach

With tranquil waters and the white sandy beaches, this beach is ideal for those who are just learning how to swim. Located on the Sunset Coast, Sorrento Beach is a good place to enjoy an afternoon swim and later have dinner as you watch the sun sink into the ocean.

5. Cable Beach

This beach has 22 kilometers of uninterrupted white sands and is popular for its spectacular fiery sunsets. If you want to take some beach photographs, this beach is one of the few places you can capture the glowing sun and the beautiful sea shores without the sun blurring your photos.

As they say in Australia, Perth is the 'Sun City' and if you want to experience as much of the Australian sun as possible, heading out to this western coast city will be your best holiday decision yet.
